update that timeline cover photo already

It’s mid-November and baby it’s cold outside! I feel the need to change my timeline cover to reflect that (in the off chance that someone is actually looking at my profile, not just seeing my latest post in their newsfeed).

In the event that you’ve been living under a rock, the Facebook Timeline Cover is that a nearly-screen-width banner image at the top of your timeline, right above your profile picture.MY FB Timeline Cover

This is your place to get creative and let your friends know a bit more about you. I like to go farther than just uploading an awesome photo from my latest family adventure or that amazing sunset at the cabin.  I like to go out of m way to design something special, just for that huge central Timeline photo.  Often I will create a collage of significant images or…create a statement piece that reflects a current mood/feeling (like the one shown above) or supports/raises awareness for a cause (e.g. November is American Diabetes Month).

But what if you’re not a designer? You have a few options to choose from.

Option One: There is slew of editors, makers and generators to make it easier for you to create, customize, edit and upload your cover to your Facebook page within seconds or minutes. Most of these editors require no downloads, software or programs to install. The main thing they require is to allow permission so they can log in to your Facebook account to upload your newly created Cover Photo to your Timeline photos.  You can find them via your favorite search engine by searching “timeline cover.”

Option Two: There are some free great templates, designed by hardworking photographers and creative types, available for download to design a great collage.  Here are a few of my favorite collections, clicking on the images below will bring you to the respective company facebook page where you will be able to download the templates.

Option Three: Create your own! Do it from scratch or based on my tutorial.
